Green Road

On September 26 of last year, the Green Road officially opened with a dedication ceremony, attended by 200 guests, including former Senator Barbara Mikulski, who gave the keynote address. The hope is that this project will be a model for similar spaces at other military facilities.

DC Smart School

The coming winter season, DC Smart Schools will initiate a program to integrate the arts for the more than 50 garden teachers in Washington, DC. Another project in the works at DC's Francis Stevens Elementary and Middle School is building a fence around the school's vegetable garden both to keep animals at bay and also to serve as a display structure for students' artwork. DC Smart Schools is working with the art teacher to update the display every few months with new artwork.
